Technology and support for a modern workplace

The Sightline business modernization program is updating how we get help and how we do our daily work. 

  • Better support (January 2027): 
    The new mySolutionTeam portal will give the JH community one place to find information and request help for HR, finance, supply chain, and post-award sponsored research. New and improved solution teams will focus on faster, more consistent, and accurate support. 
  • Simpler way to work (July 2027): 
    Workday will replace SAP and related systems, offering a more streamlined, user-friendly experience for self-service and everyday HR, finance, supply chain, and post-award sponsored research tasks. 

mySolutionTeam portal makes it easier to access support

mySolutionTeam is a new digital support hub for administrative resources and support across HR/payroll, finance, supply chain/procurement, and post-award sponsored projects. It will remove the guesswork about where to go or who to contact—support teams will route requests to the right team for timely, consistent resolution.

mySolutionTeam will bring: 

  • One hub for administrative requests: one place for help and transactional support 
  • Coordination for support teams: streamlined service accessible to all staff and faculty 
  • A future knowledge base: a single place that pulls in administrative information and resources 

Specialized support teams lighten the administrative load

Changing how administrative services are organized and delivered is an important aspect of the Sightline strategy and will help Johns Hopkins improve the quality and consistency of our services for everyone.

JHU: 

At the Johns Hopkins University, many divisions are reorganizing their administrative work to ensure improved alignment and strategic support. The university is also establishing two specialized Solution Teams, one for HR and one for finance, that will handle routine, high-volume transactions and deliver a more consistent experience that minimizes errors and delays. Faculty and employees will continue to receive personalized support through their divisions. Solution Teams will reduce divisional burden by completing routine administrative transactions.
